Wireless and space-saving: more applications, less equipment
Endlessly versatile: a universal handle can be connected to all probe heads – so you can master more applications using less equipment and save space. The Bluetooth handle makes it more convenient to carry out your measurement and guarantees less cable clutter in the case.
Or order the cable handle to connect testo probe heads. This is an advantage if Bluetooth signals are not permitted. If the vane needs to be replaced in the distant future, you can change the probe head.
If required, you can also fit the vane probe with the extendable telescope with 90° angle and, if necessary, the telescope extension (both can be ordered separately; in combination 2 m long). This makes it easy to measure at ceiling outlets.
Intelligent calibration concept
You will get exceptionally accurate measurement results with the digital vane probe, because the measuring instrument makes measurement uncertainty a thing of the past. You only need to send the probe head in for calibration – so the measuring instrument remains in continuous use.
Areas of application for the vane probe with Bluetooth
Air/ceiling outlets: Use the vane probe to determine air velocity and volume flow at air outlets. During loop-pattern scanning of the grille’s cross section, the air velocity values are integrated and averaged across a large area of 100 mm. As a result, precise measurement results are achieved with the loop measurement.
For measurements at ceiling outlets: the extendable telescope (1.0 m long) with easy-to-read scaling and 90° angle is easy to attach to the vane probe. The 90° angle ensures that the probe is positioned correctly under the ceiling. For high ceilings, you can also use the telescope extension, attaining a total length of 2 metres (please order the extendable telescope and telescope extension separately).
Plate outlets, ventilation grilles and swirl outlets: For convenient, accurate measurements at plate outlets and ventilation grilles, we recommend using the vane probe with the testovent 417 funnel set (please order separately). This guarantees simple testing of incoming/outgoing air – such as in the controlled ventilation of living spaces.
If you add in the volume flow straightener (please order separately), an impressively high level of precision can be achieved when carrying out measurements at swirl outlets.

It provides reliable support with the calculation of the overall air capture on HVAC systems, for instance in hospitals, office buildings or commercial buildings.
High measuring accuracy at swirl outlets thanks to air capture straightener
Air capture is frequently measured at swirl outlets. Air flows are often incorrectly measured due to the turbulent air at these outlets.
The testo 420 air capture hood means you can significantly reduce these measurement errors. The integrated air capture straightener calms the turbulence and converts it into a virtually uniform air flow. This enables accurate calculation of air capture in the 80 to 3,500 m3/h range.
Exceptionally light air capture hood with fast set-up
The air capture hood with ergonomic handles and tiltable display has an exceptional weight of less than 2.9 kg. This means that frequent air capture calculations in large rooms and measurements above head height can also be carried out reliably and comfortably. In the process, a large measuring button on the air capture hood ensures easy recording of the readings.
The dimensions of the hood are 610 x 610 mm. We offer additional hoods as accessories for further ceiling outlets. The use of our optional tripod arm is a great help for air inlets and outlets which are located very high up. It can be extended up to 4 metres.
The air capture hood is quick and easy to set up thanks to tension rods. The trolley which is included in the scope of delivery ensures safe transport.
Create protocols directly on site and mail them using the App connection
Take advantage of further practical functions and download our free App. Because the App connection enables mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to be used as a secondary display and remote control via Bluetooth. This is particularly practical for using a tripod arm for high ceilings.
The App enables live measurement on HVAC systems using a start and stop function and the saving of measurement data in txt format. You can create the measurement protocol directly on site using the App. Measurement results, such as the overall air capture and the air exchange rate, can be directly assigned to customer-specific protocol templates. You can then send your readings and protocols via the e-mail function. This means you save a considerable amount of time and increase efficiency.
Air capture hood with removable measuring instrument - performance overview
The air capture hood for HVAC systems is equipped with a measuring instrument for displaying measurement data. The device can be tilted and removed for user-friendly reading of measuring values.
The testo 420 measuring instrument enables you to measure flow velocity, air capture, absolute pressure, temperature and relative humidity. The automatic zeroing ensures higher accuracy for low pressures.
All measuring values are easy to read on the large display which has an illumination function. For analyses and documentation, measurement data can be saved and measurement protocols created directly on site using the App connection. Administration of the measurement data is very easy on the PC without any additional software via the plug & play function.
The testo 420 air capture hood with its integrated measuring instrument was not just developed for air capture measurement at larger ceiling outlets. The measuring instrument can also be taken off the hood and used for pressure, flow and air capture measurements in the duct. This means you can save on the purchase of an additional measuring instrument.
You merely have to attach a Pitot tube and connection hoses (both optional) for measurements in ducts. Timed and multi-point mean calculation, as well as the combination of the two, together with simple input of the duct geometry provide you with support for measurements in ducts.

The anemometer is practical for outdoor operation: It not only measures air velocity and air temperature, but also calculates the Beaufort wind force and the wind chill temperature, which is the temperature perceived by a person due to wind-related cooling.
The vane anemometer with practical functions
The testo 410-1 includes a plug-on protective cap, as well as a wrist strap for secure measurement, and enables you to take advantage of the following functions:
Single-point averaging: The anemometer provides information on the average air velocity, e.g. at air outlets
Hold function: is used to record the current values relating to air velocity and air temperature and compare them with each other
Max/min values: get the minimum or maximum values since the anemometer was last switched on or reset, at the touch of a button
Illuminated display: read off your readings even in dark environments
Selectable units: for air velocity and temperature: m/s, km/h, fpm, mph, kts, Beaufort, °C, °F and wind chill

Testo 425 air velocity meter with thermal flow probe, calibration protocol and battery
Testo 425 air velocity meter measures the air velocity and Volumetric air flow. Testing of ventilation and air conditioning systems includes flow speed in ventilation ducts.
Testo 425 air velocity meter for quick, easy flow measurement
The testo 425 air velocity meter enables quick spot measurements in ventilation ducts. It records the flow speed, calculates the volumetric flow and also measures the temperature. With a measuring range of 0 to +20 m/s, this air velocity meter is particularly well suited to low air flow velocity.
The air velocity meter features a telescopic flow probe. The telescope can be extended to a length of up to 820 mm and has a probe head diameter of 7.5 mm.
Like the flow speed, would you also like to detect the volumetric flow on your air conditioning or ventilation system? This is no problem for the testo 425 air velocity meter. When you input the duct surface area, it automatically calculates the volumetric flow during the flow measurement. Single and multi-point averaging provides an indicator of the average volumetric flow, flow speed and temperature reading.
You can read off the current readings and the min/max and calculated mean value at any time on the illuminated display. Using the Hold button, you can freeze the current reading in order to compare it with another value, for example. If you should ever forget to switch off the air velocity meter, the Auto-off function will take care of this for you. This conserves your batteries and ensures that your air velocity meter is ready for use in the next measurement.

Testo 405 thermal anemometer, including duct bracket and batteries
Testo 405 Pocket Size thermal anemometer to measure air velocity, volumetric flow and air temperature. Measurements in ventilation ducts and measuring air velocity in rooms
Measurement of air velocity, volumetric flow and air temperature
For measurements in ventilation ducts and in rooms
Telescope extendible to 300 mm
Testo 405 thermal anemometer is a must-have. The thermal anemometer features a permanently mounted telescope and enables you to measure air flow, volumetric flow and air temperature. The measuring range for flow is between 0 to 10 m/s, volumetric flows are calculated up to 99,990 m3/h.
The extendible telescope (up to 300 mm) makes the thermal anemometer particularly suitable for flow measurements in ventilation ducts. The illuminated display can be swivelled into various positions, ensuring that the readings can be read off comfortably. The duct bracket (included in the delivery) offers key practical advantages. You can use this to optimally position the telescope in the ventilation duct and obtain precise measurement results.
Since the thermal anemometer testo 405 measures particularly accurately in the range between 0 and 2 m/s, you can also use it to measure the air velocity in rooms for checking indoor air quality. Low air velocities, at draughty windows for example, are quickly located and accurately measured using the thermal anemometer.
Integrated sensor protection: when you are not using the testo 405 thermal anemometer, the rotating protective cap protects the flow sensor from mechanical stress.
