Kit for carrying out measurements in ventilation ducts: the testo 440 air velocity and IAQ measuring instrument and the hot wire probe (Ø 9 mm) including temperature sensor are all safely stowed away in the case. So you can get down to work straight away!

Use the testo 440 air velocity and IAQ measuring instrument in combination with high-quality probes to measure and store all air velocity and IAQ parameters (please order probes separately). Up to 3 probes can be connected simultaneously: a Bluetooth probe, a wired probe and a temperature probe with type K thermocouple connector. Automatic probe detection and clearly structured measurement menus guarantee simple operation and will make your day-to-day work easier.

Hot wire probe – features

Use the fixed cable to connect the hot wire probe to the measuring instrument.

The probe is equipped with a telescope, which can be extended to a maximum length of 0.85 m. To ensure accurate measurement results, air density compensation is carried out via the integrated absolute pressure measurement.

The clearly structured measurement menu for volume flow makes the measuring instrument intuitive to operate. The volume flow is precisely calculated thanks to convenient input of the size and geometry of the duct cross-section. Timed and multi-point mean calculation, average volume flow, current reading and min./max. values are displayed in the measuring instrument.

Integrated sensor protection: when you are not using the hot wire probe, the rotatable protective cap protects the air velocity sensor from dirt and mechanical stress.

Intelligent calibration concept

You will get exceptionally accurate measurement results with the digital probe, because the measuring instrument makes measurement uncertainty a thing of the past. You only need to send the probe in for calibration – so the measuring instrument remains in continuous use.

Areas of application for the hot wire probe

Ventilation ducts: Use the hot wire probe to measure air velocity and air temperature in ventilation ducts with reliability. Benefit from fast calculation of the volume flow: in the “volume flow” measurement menu of the compatible measuring instrument (please order separately), configure the dimensions and geometry of the duct cross-section – the measuring instrument shows you the volume flow straight away.

  5. Permanently attached extendible telescopic probe

Testo 425 air velocity meter for quick, easy flow measurement

The testo 425 air velocity meter enables quick spot measurements in ventilation ducts. It records the flow speed, calculates the volumetric flow and also measures the temperature. With a measuring range of 0 to +20 m/s, this air velocity meter is particularly well suited to low air flow velocity.

The air velocity meter features a telescopic flow probe. The telescope can be extended to a length of up to 820 mm and has a probe head diameter of 7.5 mm.

Like the flow speed, would you also like to detect the volumetric flow on your air conditioning or ventilation system? This is no problem for the testo 425 air velocity meter. When you input the duct surface area, it automatically calculates the volumetric flow during the flow measurement. Single and multi-point averaging provides an indicator of the average volumetric flow, flow speed and temperature reading.

You can read off the current readings and the min/max and calculated mean value at any time on the illuminated display. Using the Hold button, you can freeze the current reading in order to compare it with another value, for example. If you should ever forget to switch off the air velocity meter, the Auto-off function will take care of this for you. This conserves your batteries and ensures that your air velocity meter is ready for use in the next measurement.

Equip yourself with accessories for the air velocity meter

To make sure that you are well-prepared for any circumstances, we recommend that when purchasing the air velocity meter, you also order our practical accessories: as an added option we offer a handy pocket, a transport case and also the TopSafe protective cover (to protect the air velocity meter from water, dirt and impacts).

Delivery Scope

Testo 405 thermal anemometer, including duct bracket and batteries

Pocket Size Thermal Anemometer - Testo 405
Model No: Testo 405 Part No: 0560 4053

Testo 405 Pocket Size thermal anemometer to measure air velocity, volumetric flow and air temperature. Measurements in ventilation ducts and measuring air velocity in rooms

  1. Measurement of air velocity, volumetric flow and air temperature

  2. For measurements in ventilation ducts and in rooms

  3. Telescope extendible to 300 mm

Testo 405 thermal anemometer is a must-have. The thermal anemometer features a permanently mounted telescope and enables you to measure air flow, volumetric flow and air temperature. The measuring range for flow is between 0 to 10 m/s, volumetric flows are calculated up to 99,990 m3/h.

The extendible telescope (up to 300 mm) makes the thermal anemometer particularly suitable for flow measurements in ventilation ducts. The illuminated display can be swivelled into various positions, ensuring that the readings can be read off comfortably. The duct bracket (included in the delivery) offers key practical advantages. You can use this to optimally position the telescope in the ventilation duct and obtain precise measurement results.

Since the thermal anemometer testo 405 measures particularly accurately in the range between 0 and 2 m/s, you can also use it to measure the air velocity in rooms for checking indoor air quality. Low air velocities, at draughty windows for example, are quickly located and accurately measured using the thermal anemometer.

Integrated sensor protection: when you are not using the testo 405 thermal anemometer, the rotating protective cap protects the flow sensor from mechanical stress.
